With the nearly full moon illuminating the nearby tree tops, the planet Mars can be seen in the constellation of Taurus on August 27, 2007. Contrary to a popular email, Mars did not look as large as the full Moon to the naked eye. Mars does make a statement in that it rivals the brightest star in Taurus, Aldebaran, for top honors on this night.
