The image above shows the dual flyby of the International Space Station (ISS) and the SpaceX Dragon over my backyard observatory on the morning of May 23, 2012. This flyby is special because it marks the first time a commercial spacecraft will attempt to dock with the ISS.
In the image, the ISS is the brighter of the two satellite trails. Both satellites are moving from southwest to the northeast. In addition to the flyby, a meteor crosses the trails in the lower middle of the image.
