Shower peak: 00:00 UT, 4/22 (6:00 PM MDT, 4/21)
Weather: scattered clouds -> overcast -> rain -> overcast -> clearing
The Lyrid meteor shower for 2012 was uneventful at this location. Although the moon did not interfere with the show this year, rain and clouds showed up early in the evening of the 21st and did not clear out until the morning of the 22nd; some 6 hours after the shower peak had passed.
The image is a composite of all video frames taken between 00:30 and 05:00 AM MDT. Artificial light sources were removed leaving behind the background with trailed stars and meteors. In all, seven meteors can be seen. North is up, south is down, east is left and west is right. The bright star trail at left center is Vega which is close to the Lyrid meteor shower radiant. The lights encircling the scene are from houses and street lights.
